Outrageous

In Government owned media, there're accusations that the army found unsuitable things for monks in the monasteries (female clothes, condoms, pornographic pictures, etc) and these are clearly another bottom-dwelling campaigns of the government against monks. Civilians are really angry with it, as it is ultimately outrageous. They are ruining a religion. There is no word to describe such deeds. Now even the buses in Yangon dare not transport monks. Maggin Monastery which has been helping AIDS patients had been sacked, so were many other monasteries, and all the supplies, rice bags, etc were taken and the monasteries are locked. This clearly is robbery. Can't somebody do something about it? Do we all have to watch Buddhism completely fading away along with our country?

Courage Even in Captivity

Monks, nuns and civilians, being detained at GTI, Innsein, continue to protest the inhumane government by not accepting any meals.

Should these innocent people be tortured in prison?

The government is planning to send the arrested monks, nuns and civilians, detained at GTI, Innsein to the Ka-Baw Valley prison in Sa-gaing.

only 10 survived out of 200 monks at Ngwe Kyar Yan Monastery

The cruelty of the military government is indiscernible. How could they be such inhumane in a Buddhist country? Yangon witnesses have reported that monks were crushed to death in Ngwe Kyar Yan Monastery, while the civilians were unable to help due to the soldier's barricade. Monks were crashed by the heads to the wall of the monastery in a row, and the bodies were thrown onto the trucks and taken away.

Here're also some photos from ko htike's blog http://ko-htike.blogspot.com of the body of a monk

Don't we have enough evidences to show the world that this government is INTERNATIONAL TERRORIST?
Why can't the international community stop this?
Why should we watch our fellow citizens and revered monks die like this?

May Than Shwe and his followers have to live inumerable lives in hell. (Not that they need our wish)

No firing at people

Sources say that there'll be no firing at people because of the presence of the UN envoy. Tens of thousands of people are protesting in a disciplined manner downtown. People are being urged to go out on the streets and join the protests since the military has ordered not to fire at people.

29th September

The army will raid all the monasteries in Yangon tonight. People are alert and trying to block the soldiers from going into the monasteries.

Workers joining the protests

On Monday, workers all over the country will strike against the military government.

RESIST UNTIL WE WIN

To Citizens of Burma

What the Burmese citizens are doing is the most noble sacrifice. They cannot fight back. Once they fight back, what they all have done would have been in vain. Once they fight back, it'll be a repetition of 1988 case, in which the military government gained an excuse to seize hold of the power that they were controlling the riots and damage.

Thus the citizens cannot fight back. External help is the only hope that we all have. Civilians don't have any weapons. They cannot fight bare hands with those brainwashed soldiers, giving them excuse to shoot at people.

Lots of lives have been lost in this war. This is a war between peace and violence. I understand that some of the Burmese people want to fight back. But if we fight back, all those lives sacrificed would have had been in vain.

All those people who gave their lives for the future generations of Burma are the most noble people. They are heroes of our country even though their identities are unknown. And all the Burmese people around the world, please beware that these people are giving their lives for every single one of you. Shame on you if you don't care what's going on in Burma right now. Beware that the monks and citizens under arrest are hungry and miserable when you're soundly sleeping at night. The wounded are in a lack of medical attention, and the dead being dragged like dead animals to be destroyed. These people are risking their lives while you are safe and sound abroad. It'd be a shame if you don't even care.

It is nonviolence which is our weapon. It is Daw Aung San Su Kyi's way of fighting. And I absolutely agree with it. So fight with nonviolence. RESIST UNTIL WE WIN.
Fight with nonviolence wherever in the world you are. We need demographic force. We need mass demonstrations. We need to make the world know that Burma needs help. Make them know that citizens of Burma are humans that walk the same earth as them and that the Burmese people being killed in a slaughtering pit deserve the very human rights they are enjoying right now.

Democratic Voice of Burma says

The military government announced 9 people dead. But Democratic Voice of Burma pointed out (according to their own data) that at least 29 people were killed in one single day.
People believe that the government is having an internal conflict over the issue of killing innocent citizens and monks.

DVB's interview with Ko Htay Kywel mentioned that this time citizens are on the winning side since the situations are quite unlike what happened in 1988.

In 1988, people had no one leading them. But this time, they have Daw Aung San Su Kyi and NLD Party, 1988 Generation Students,Shin Ganbiya and his fellow monks leading. The protests are organized by the protest committee that was newly set up by Ko Htay Kywel and 1988 Generation Students. ( Even though they had been on the run lately, now they've started organizing the protests and said they have their own office)

In 1988, people had fought back the soldiers by throwing stones and likewise, but this time people are urged not to be violent at all making it more difficult for the army to use violence against people.

Best of all, due to the internet and Burmese young people providing information as it happens, the whole world has access to what is happening inside Burma everyday. People all over the world are watching everyday placing more pressure on the military government. In 1988, even though at least 3000 people were killed, the world was quite unaware of the fact. And very few videos or photos survived.

Slingshots Used at people

The army used slingshots to shoot at people near Anawrahta Rd and 35th St. They warned the citizens not to use slingshots on the soldiers from high-level apartments and that they will take action to those who help the protesters hide in their home while the army is chasing them down.

News from Sone See Yar Blog

Bodies killed in the protests are being secreted. Witnesses say that a truck bearing the number Sa/7270 was transporting the bodies to the Yangon River and the bodies were thrown into the river.

The riot police and a group of people seemingly criminals released from prisons were seen collecting the emptied bullets on the streets that the army fired to kill people. At the same time, citizens are also collecting as many emptied bullets as possible to keep as evidence of the military's crime.

A Temporary Government is Essential, Dr. Lun Swe Says

Dr. Lunn Swe has sugguested in his website http://drlunswe.blogspot.com/ that Burma needs a parallel temporary government to be set up immediately to join with the protesting clergy and citizens so that external help is possible. In 1988 case, citizens were forced to give in by the military regime when they were in between being against the U Nu's government and a new temporary government.

In Mandalay, 28th September Friday

Witnesses confirmed that 33 Armed Force's soldiers pledged the clergy not to go forward and paid homage on the streets.

People are hoping that the government's armed forces would join the citizens and fight back the military government.
And news have spread that some forces have joined the citizens.Still needs confirmation.

The military junta to be charged at international law courts

According to the news from the New Era Journal (http://www.khitpyaing.org/news/currentnews_title.php), the military junta will have to face a sanction in international courts. The Thai-Burma Border based National Council of Union of Burma (NCUB) announced so since the Military junta has used violence against the civilians and clergy.

The Secretary-General U Maung Maung said they will have to take action since the military junta has used terrorism on the people of Burma despite the international regard of demonstrations as peaceful and they have started discussing with attorneys and will start as soon as tonight to send notices out.

The military junta has ignored the international awareness and support for Democracy. It is reported that they forced the monks to change into layman's clothes after arresting.

He said, unlike the 1988 uprising, the whole world has access to what's happening in Burma thanks to technology and that the evidences are undeniable.

Monks paying homage to soldiers

What is happening in Burma?

On September 19, 2007, people in Burma started demonstrations since the Government has raised the price of Fuel unreasonably, making the transportation fares go up 5 times. This has affected directly to all citizens of Burma who are already oppressed to poverty, and have not given the human rights ever since the military took over the power.
The Military government took actions, chased down and arrested those who participated in the demonstrations including the 1988 generation students who participated in 1988 movements. They were searched and arrested at their homes.

Monks asked for Democracy and release of political prisoners including Aung San Su Kyi, the noble prize winner for Peace and the leader of National League for Democracy, a party standing against the government. Aung San Su Kyi has been under house arrest for nearly a decade.
Monks have started the demonstrations at the national level. The whole nation have been too oppressed to ignore these demonstrations that they all joined in. At first, the government took little action, no mare than taking photographs and watching.
On September 25, approximately 100,000 people participated the demonstrations in Yangon. On September 26, it increased to at least 300,000 people. The day before, the government has announced not to participate in the demonstrations and warned that they will take action.

September 26,2007 (Wednesday)
This time they show their inhumane acts, beating the revered monks, stepping down on their wounds and the Sacred Buddhist Flag, dividing people with tear gas bombs and firing in the air. As the day grew, they became more and more inhumane. They have burned the sacred monks' robes, shooting at people randomly.

Eye witnesses reported a monk beaten to death in the head while asking to pass through. Another witnessed two monks beaten their brains out.
The news said a woman of 45 years old was shot near downtown area. The doctors in Yangon Hospital witnessed one man dead at the hospital, shot in the bladder.
At least 5 monks and 1 man dead, 17 injured.
They have ordered a curfew not to go out between 6 pm and 6 am.
A report said they have released the criminals in the jails to free up the spaces for the demonstrators. The criminals have been offered 3000 Kyats to beat up the demonstrators. A lot of people of all age, men, women, students, monks have been arrested and dragged onto trucks.

Among protesters include a famous comedian, Zaganar, who was arrested and an actor, Kyaw Thu who is on the run, and many well-known writers, singers,song-writers and artists as well. The government has warned all the artists to stay out of it.

This is a glimpse the current situation in Burma. We are raising the awareness internationally to help our people, to get an external help.
Please be aware that people are suffering and dying all over the world every moment you breathe.
